Music for the Sake of Making Music was intended to accompany a music workshop exploring various techniques and styles of composition, in the context of making music for no other reason than to make music, thus avoiding competitiveness and concerns about impressing others, preferences for specific styles or techniques, and for subject matter outside of music. In this way one may obtain a whole picture of music and have an approach that is not oriented towards specific groups or ideologies, with the ultimate goal of gaining greater self-awareness. The pieces are intended to be performed on many different instruments, perhaps to the choosing of the performers, but this version is solo piano.
