The third in the meditative Elements series competes the first six hours of music along with Constellations and The Awesome Sound King Thus Come One. While Constellations explored chordophones with its strummed piano and Indian shruti tuning and The Awesome Sound King explored metal idiophones with its non-repeating motifs, this recording is purely electronic and the only instrument is a Moog Matriarch synthesizer. Each hour of the day has been condensed to a 5 minute section in which one of the 24 major and minor chords is held throughout, creating a piece based purely on shifting harmonic overtones and does away with melody, harmony, and rhythm in the typical sense. The lower part expands and contracts in the range of harmonic overtones and is connected to breath; the middle part is connected to heart rate and moves up and down the harmonic series making microtonal melodies; the high part is connected with thought, wandering through different tones in rapid succession.
